[I ] RULES & CONSTITUTIONS

PERSATUAN ALUMNI SEKOLAH ANGLO-CHINESE IPOH (1967), MALAYSIA

[II ] RELEVANT EXCERPTS :

(1  )  Rule V. Objects:

The objects of the Association shall be:

(i)    To promote the advancement and improvement of members physically, intellectually, socially and morally;

(ii)    To develop a true spirit of loyalty and love for the Alma Mater;

(iii)    To secure the co-operation and active interest of former students in carrying out the aims and objects of the school;

(iv)    To foster the ideals of true citizenship and to promote the feeling of comradeship among the races;

(v)    To assist or make donations towards any charitable, research or educational cause.

(2  )   Rule VI. Membership:

(i)      The Association shall consist of Honorary, Life, Ordinary and Association   Members;

(ii)      Persons who have done some special service for the Association or the School are eligible or Honorary Membership and may be elected as such by the Executive Committee. An Honorary Member shall not be eligible to vote and hold office but shall have the privileges as may be onferred upon him by the Rules or By-laws;

(iii)     Any Ordinary Member of the Association may become a Life Member on payment of the required subscription;

(iv)    Former students of the Anglo-Chinese School, Ipoh are eligible for Ordinary and Life Membership;

(v)    Teachers and Old Boys of any other Methodist school in Malaysia and Singapore are eligible for the Associate Membership. Associate Members are not entitled to vote or to be elected to the Executive Committee;

(vi)    No university or university college student shall be admitted as a member without the prior written permission of the vice-chancellor of the university or university college concerned.

(3   )  Rule VII. Admission of Members:

(i)     A candidate for election as a Life, Ordinary or Associate Member shall be:-

(a) Aged not less than 21 years old;

(b) A person without criminal record;

(c) A person who is not a bankrupt;

(d) Willing to abide by the Rules of Association.

(ii)   Every applicant for membership shall be proposed and seconded by two existing members and the application shall be forwarded to the Secretary who shall at the first convenient opportunity, submit it to the Executive Committee for approval. The Executive Committee may at its discretion reject any application without assigning any reason thereof.

(iii)  Every applicant whose application has been approved as aforesaid shall upon payment of the first annual subscription, be admitted as a member of the Association and shall be entitled accordingly to all the privileges of membership.

(4   )  Rule VIII. Subscription:

(i)    The annual subscription, payable in advance, shall be RM10.00 for an Ordinary and RM5.00 for an Associate Member;

(ii)    The subscription for a Life Member shall be RM100.00;

(iii)    All payments of subscription and other dues shall be made to the Treasurer:

(5   )  Rule IX. Management:

(i)      The Management of the affairs of the Association shall be vested in an executive committee composed of the following members:-

(a)  The President

(b)  Two Vice-Presidents of whom one shall be the serving Principal of the Anglo-Chinese Secondary School, ex-officio;

(c)  The Honorary Secretary and an Honorary Assistant Secretary;

(d)  The Honorary Treasurer and an Honorary Assistant Treasurer;

(e)  Four Ordinary Executive Committee Members including an ex-officio who shall be the serving Headmaster of the Primary School;

(ii)     The President, Secretary, Treasurer and at least three (3) other Executive Committee Members shall be resident in Ipoh.
